1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the rental of medical equipment from Medware ("Company", "we", "us") by the customer ("you", "renter"). By placing an order or renting any equipment, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to rent equipment. For institutional rentals, the authorised representative must have proper authority to enter into this agreement on behalf of the institution.
3. Rental Period & Pricing
- Equipment is available for rent on a daily or monthly basis.
- Monthly rental is calculated as 30 times the daily rate.
- The minimum rental period is one day (daily) or one month (monthly).
- A flat delivery fee of UGX 50,000 applies per order within the Kampala area. Deliveries outside Kampala may incur additional charges.
- All prices are listed in Ugandan Shillings (UGX) and are subject to change without prior notice.
- Late returns may incur additional daily charges at the standard daily rate.
4. Payment Terms
- Payment is due upon delivery or prior to delivery via Mobile Money (MTN / Airtel), bank transfer, or cash.
- A refundable security deposit may be required for certain equipment. The deposit amount will be communicated at checkout.
- The security deposit is refunded within 7 business days of equipment return, provided the equipment is in good condition.
5. Equipment Use & Care
- Equipment must be used only for its intended medical purpose.
- You are responsible for the safekeeping and proper use of the equipment during the rental period.
- Do not attempt to repair, modify, or disassemble any equipment. Contact us for any maintenance or repair needs.
- Equipment must not be sub-leased or transferred to any third party without our written consent.
6. Damage & Loss
- Normal wear and tear is covered by Medware at no extra cost.
- Damage caused by misuse, negligence, or unauthorised modifications will be charged to the renter. Repair or replacement costs will be deducted from the security deposit or invoiced separately.
- In case of theft or loss, the renter is liable for the full replacement value of the equipment.
- Any damage or malfunction must be reported to Medware within 24 hours.
7. Delivery & Installation
- Medware provides delivery, installation, and a usage demonstration for all rented equipment.
- Same-day delivery is available for orders placed before 12:00 PM within Kampala.
- The renter must provide a suitable and accessible location for equipment setup.
8. Returns & Pickup
- Equipment must be returned at the end of the agreed rental period.
- Schedule a pickup by contacting us at least 24 hours in advance.
- Equipment must be returned in the same condition it was delivered, except for normal wear and tear.
- Rental extensions must be requested before the current rental period expires.
9. Maintenance & Technical Support
- Medware provides free maintenance for equipment issues arising from normal use.
- 24/7 technical support is available via phone, email, and WhatsApp.
- Emergency replacement equipment may be provided if repairs are not feasible on-site.
10. Cancellation Policy
- Orders may be cancelled free of charge before delivery.
- Cancellations after delivery will be subject to a minimum one-day rental charge.
- Refunds for pre-paid rentals will be processed within 7 business days.
11. Limitation of Liability
Medware shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of rented equipment. Our liability is limited to the rental fees paid for the specific equipment in question. We are not responsible for the clinical outcomes of treatments administered using our equipment.

13. Changes to Terms
Medware reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
